The Indian subsidiary of the Israel based company, Makhteshim-Agan Group, has set up a Agro formulation facility in Dahej GIDC worth Rs 150 crores. The plant was inaugurated on Thursday.
The subsidiary of the company is known as Makhteshim-Agan India Ltd. Erez Vigodman, President of the company said that they want to provide the Indian farmers with the best assistance and solutions for the plant protection problem. The company has around 34 warehouses in the country. He added that the company has 8 % market share in India in agricultural formulation production.
Minister of Industries and Energy, Saurabh Patel said that he is confident that the Makhteshim-Agan, agricultural formulation plant is going to prove beneficial for the Indian farmers. He conveyed that that Israel has already gifted the world its drip irrigation technology, and the importance of drip irrigation in Gujarat is at a huge extent.
Mr. Vigodman said that India is going to face more challenges as far as agriculture is concerned. The reason for this, he stated, that the population is increasing against which the farm land and the harvest is also decreasing. The only solution to this problem is innovating technologies focused on high agricultural production.

Israel has tought world how to grow crops in the barren lands. It will be great if Gujarat can learn something from Israel in mutually beneficial way.
