Tata Motors in its largest order ever of medium and heavy commercial vehicles frp, single fleet owner last week secured an order for 1,111 medium and heavy trucks from Surat, Gujarat-based fleet owner Siddhivinayak Logistics (SVLL), one of the largest fleet owners in the country, with a fleet of over 2,000 CVs. These trucks are to be delivered during the course of this financial year. The company plans to start transporting fresh fruits and vegetables through refrigerated containers on the Tata Prima.
Vinod Sahay, head – Sales and Marketing (M&HCV Trucks) at Tata Motors, said the OEM will start executing this order in June, and plans to complete the order by the end of this financial year (31 March 2012).
Tata Motors sold 15,532 M&HCVs in the domestic market in May 2011, a year-on-year growth of 12%. The company’s total CV sales last month rose 19% compared with May 2010 to 37,361 units.
