Top Chinese power equipment manufacturing company TBEA will set up a Rs 2,500-crore plant between Vadodara and Bharuch next to national highway No. 8, and an announcement on this was made after a high-level meeting TBEA chairman Zhang Xin had with chief minister Narendra Modi in Gandhinagar on Thursday, according to ToI report.
The report quoting a senior government official says “TBEA will be producing equipment which will be capable of transmitting 1,200KV of power. Such kind of equipment are not available in India today.”
The equipment will have the capacity to transmit 4,000 to 5,000MW of power which will be transmitted inter-state on 150-metre high towers. The plant will employ 1,000 skilled manpower. Of them about 100 top technicians will be coming from China to set up and run the unit, as per the report.
