As many as 500 workers of General Motors India’s Halol plant on strike for last 50 days are going to resume their duty from thursday(4 May) after fresh settlement between the union and management. The company had continued production of cars in one shift but suffered loss of production of about 3000 cars during the strike period.
According to Nihil Mehta, General secretary of the Gujarat Kamdar Union said. Talking to PTI tonight, Mehta said,”the amicable settlement was reached between two parties in the presence of Deputy Labour commissioner K O Shah on Wednesday.
As per the settlement, the company management will revoke suspension of 7 employees on strike.
