Surat’s more than 400 Textile Processing House began indefinite strike today morning.
The strike has been announced by South Gujarat Textile Processors Association against gas price hike declared by Gujarat Gas Company.
Processing units of Surat, Palsana, Sachin, Pandesara, Udhna, Kadodara, Gujarat Eco Textile Park, Jolava have joined the strike.
Abut two lakh laborers impacted by strike will be paid and offered food during the strike according to an announcement.
Units on strike have stopped receiving gray.Surat units otherwise process about 4 crore meter gray every day.
Expected turnover loss per day due to strike is about Rs. 100 crore.
