For promotion of trade and commerce, the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) here today inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Regina and District Chamber of Commerce (RDCC), of Canada.
The MoU was signed between GCCI president Chintan Parikh and RDCC president Victor Thomas, so as to open doors for trade at both the ends and establish a framework for facilitating business.
“We are happy to be here to formalise our relations with the chamber. We have membership of over 1,100,” President RDCC Victor Thomas said.
Regina, the capital of Saskatchewan province in Canada, offers trade and commerce opportunities in sectors such as mining, agriculture, agro industry, petroleum and allied industry. The exports from Saskatchewan province to India in 2010 stood at Rs 3,900 crore. The exports from the province were close to 45 per cent of the bilateral trade between India and Canada in 2009.
