Four-member high power committee formed to sell Gujarat Tourism land


Gujarat government has taken a decision to provide land at concessional rate to mega-tourism project in the state. Also the govt will decide upset price and issue tender to sell Gujarat tourism’s properties and unused land plots.

In a meeting presided by Chief Secretary A.K.Joti, the procedure to sell Gujarat Tourism Corporation’s property and land will be made faster.

As per Industry(tourism) Deputy Secretary M.J.Patel’s 20 January order, a high power committee consisting higher officials of four government departments will be formed for selling of Gujarat Tourism owned land. This will include Additional Chief Secretary of Finance department, Principal Secretary of Industry department and Secretary and Managing Director of Tourism department. The committee will take decision on various parameter related to land sell through public tender.

The government has also taken a decision to restructure the Gujarat Tourism Corporation. A 10% reserve fund will be raised for creation of infrastructural facilities. Some positions will be filled with GAS cadre and contract system. A process of training of 1000 guides has been assigned to Labor and Employment department. State’s Roads and Building department has been asked to set up parking, and toilet facility on four lane highway-side.
