During an interaction with the alumni students of IIM Ahmedabad on Monday, the Gujarat Chief Minster Narendra Modi said Gujarat will open a world-class incubation centre near Ahmedabad. The project will be developed in public-private partnership(PPP) mode. Experts in various areas are being invited to be part of this. Apart from IIM-A representatives(Modi named Mr. Jajoo who is IIM-A dean), Israel is also working with us in this project.

This is great news – heard for the first time. Hope this is followed up by real ground level action. Gujarat badly needs this.

    a) Where will this be setup?
    b) What will be criteria to get in as a business?
    c) Who will fund it?
    d) When will it be ready?
    e) What kind of support will be available to entrepreneurs?

What in heavens name is an Incubation centre?
Let us use the correct word.
If not Samir Barua will start incubating Naxals and communist and corrupt thieves.works with over 1000 members in High Technology and High Growth environments as well as those focussing on Regeneration.
In UK it is called Business incubation centre.
Example: Business Incubation organisation in UK
UKBI members are from central and local government, national and international organisations, HE and FE institutions, high-growth and technology centres and science parks, research and development laboratories, innovation centres, commercial and sectoral clusters, regeneration projects and the private sector to help create the right environment for technology, innovations and entrepreneurs to grow and succeed.

They take a small phrase and get excited about using them and then they use it freely. Take Infrastructure for example. Any small contractor in India calls himself an Infrastructure developer. Infrastructure in true sense is supposed to mean enhancing resources that support further economic developement of a region meaning roads, rails, mass transit, power, water and other amenaties that will promote growth. Any residential developer brochoure will mention this magic word. An office or organization will list the office space area and number of computers under infrastructure!!
