Report:Ferrari in talks with Gujarat govt

According to an article published in Mint today, the Gujarat govt and Italy’s iconic luxury sports car maker manufacturer company Ferrari S.p.A are in talks for setting up of an assembly unit in the state.The report suggests that representatives of the car maker company had a meeting with Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday to discuss the possibility of setting up a plant.

The car will be launched in India possibly next year, and one of the possible locations that the government wants to show Ferrari is close to the Nano plant at Sanand, about 25 kms away from state’s commercial capital Ahmedabad according to report.

The state govt is already in talk with Ford and Hyundai for possible set up of car plants in Gujarat.
