In presence of Minister of State for Industries Shri Saurabh Patel, the Employment and Training Department on Friday signed a MoU with Tata Motors. Prudent policies of State to help the youth, launching a new initiative to give the youth exposure to industry, Tata Motors would now partner the skill enhancement programme with Sarkhej ITI. Employment and Training Department in collaboration with Industries Department entered in to an agreement to commission the Skill Development Centre at Sarkhej ITI. Director Employment Shri R.M.Jadav and Commissioner of Industries Shri B.B.Swain singed the agreement papers with Vice President Government Affairs Shri A.S.Puri.
Gujarat is fast emerging as an auto-ancillary hub and requires skilled force to sustain development. Tata motors made solemn pledge to support the skill enhancement programme. New vocational courses are to be commissioned on PPP mode. State visualizes around 300 skill development centres across Gujarat by Dec-2012, out of that 22 are already functional. India Can, Team Lease, Gurukul on Line, and other national level trainers have shown their readiness to partner the project. General Motors, Apollo Tyres, Well spun; Toyota Motors have pledged their support.
