Godrej said that the township spread across 250 acres would be developed at a cost of over Rs6,000 crore and would house over 13,000 apartments and villas, for over one lakh residents.
The Garden city township will also have 40 acres of scenic landscaping, open areas and significant commercial space.
The township that would also offer education, health care, recreation and other facilities has been designed by architects Skidmore, Owing and Merill (SOM) and construction would be done by Larsen and Tubro.
Godrej said, “The Garden city township will be a world class, city within city.”
He said that GPL would develop the township by entering into a joint venture with local partners Shree Siddhi group here.
“We usually follow the model where we do joint venture with land owners in the city,” Godrej said.
He said that they were also looking at Surat for developing similar township there.
