Gujarat-Canada air travel to be shorter, faster from this winter

Thanks to winter schedule of Air India, effective from November this year, all those traveling between Ahmedabad and Toronto(Canada) will be benefited by about eight hours shorter journey compare to current duration the journey takes.

Presently Ahmedabad and Toronto are connected through Air India flight, that stops at two places: in Mumbai and London. It takes 28 hours in total from departure at Ahmedabad airport to arrival at Toronto airport(other time consumed in activities like customs, immigration, luggage arrival etc extra).

Presently Toronto service of Air India works like this: Departure from Ahmedabad airport at 21.05 (in Ahmedabad-London plane), arrival at Mumbai at 22.05, departure from Mumbai at 2.20 am, arrival at London airport at 7.30 am local time, departure from London airport at 14.00, and arrival at Toronto at 16.50.

This means, one hour time to reach Mumbai, four hours halt at Mumbai airport, 9.35 hours journey between Mumbai and London, 6.30 hours wait at London airport, 7.35 hours flight between London and Toronto. Total come out as 28 hours.

But from November, if you want to travel from Ahmedabad to Toronto, you will be taken to Delhi first, and from there, a direct flight would depart for Toronto. Timings will be like this: Daily departure from Ahmedabad at 21.00, arrival at Delhi at 22.25, departure from Delhi at 1.25 am, arrival at Toronto at 6.45 am.

This means, 1.25 hour to reach Delhi, 3 hours halt at Delhi airport’s new swanky T3 terminal, and then 16 hours direct journey in B777 plane to Toronto. Net 20.25 hours. Almost 7.5 hours less journey, and that too with only one stop, instead of two at present.

Return path would be same. All custom and immigration clearances will avail at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Patel international airport.

    Sorry,
Dear Prafulbhai friend of Maino Congress,i.
You guys have not learnt from fiasco at CWG.

    Have you forgotten Sir,
India has signed up to reduce carbon reduction.
Why fly from Gujarat to Delhi and Delhi burning aviation fuel creating carbon..
Gujarat is thousands of miles closer to Canada.
So save cost, fuel and carbon and fly direct from Gujarat in a large plane to Canada.
Let passengers from other places come to Gujarati Air ports.
When will these Italian chamchs learn to think straight.
No wonder Air India is Bankrupt.

There is new story out that Mister Praful Patel was stopped at Chicago Airport but released afterwards. Now if there no bombs on him thats fine but he should have still been arrested and locked for false promises he dishes out wherever he goes, especially about direct flights to Ahmedabad from London. A prison sentence of at least 10 years for these false was most suitable.

Gujarat/Ahmedabad is always being discriminated by central government no matter how hard/effective state government works. It’s not BJP or Congress but it’s leaders sitting on central government seats who always biased Gujarat/Gujarati -including civil aviation minister Praful Patel. I am tired of all these news. Why Ahmedabad passengers need to go either in Mumbai or Delhi even majority of passengers flying from Ahmedabad? This is how they make Gujarati spend more money and get victim of corruption by Mumbai airport dogs. I need Gujarat government and Gujarati oppose these flights and demand direct flights for London/UK, USA, and Canada. Simply do not lend Air India any plane on Ahmedabad. Why State Government not starting its own flight – “Gujarat Airways or Air Gujarat or Gurjari Airways or Air Gurjari”?

This hype about Ahmedabad flight being shorter is just a farce. They do not want you to see that by landing at Delhi, the congis are extracting UNNECESSARY landing fees from travellers to Ahmedabad. The Sikhs would never put up with this farce.

The article fails to mention that travellers to Gujarat are paying unnecessary landing fees at Delhi. Would a plane travelling to Amritsar or Chandigarh have to land at Delhi? No.

THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO TEACH THIS DAMN AIR INDIA A LESSON…STOP FLYING AIR INDIA AND START FLYING EMIRATES AND QATAR AIRWAYS AS THEY ARE FAR BETTER AND OFFER DIRECT FLIGHTS FROM AHMEDABAD…

LET THE AIR INDIA PLANS TO DELHI GO EMPTY…KICK THEM WHERE IT HURTS MOST…SIMPLE…!!!

    STOP and Think.
    CUT CARBON FOOT PRINT .
Plan like a Gujarati Patel not a Bengali Babu.
CUT CARBON CUT THE DEATH RATE IN INDIA.
.Aircraft flying above North America and Europe are emitting pollutants that are poisoning the air in India and China, and resulting in deaths of thousands of people in these Asian nations, a new study has said.

The study led by a team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology says airplanes flying at a cruise altitude of around 35,000 feet emit pollutants that contribute to about 8,000 deaths per year globally.

Due to high speed winds that flow east, air pollution caused by planes flying over North America and Europe is adversely impacting air quality in India and China, it said.

Nearly 3500 people – almost half of the global number – die in India and China due to this air pollution. Air travel is heaviest above North America and Europe.

“Even though the amount of fuel burned by aircraft over India and China accounts for only 10 per cent of the estimated total amount of fuel burned by aircraft across the globe, the two countries incur nearly half – about 3,500 – of the annual deaths related to aircraft cruise emissions,” the study said.
