According to figures announced by Cellular Operator Association of India(COAI), Gujarat telecom circle registered witnessed highest percentage of addition of new mobile connections in August 2010, over previous month.
Gujarat witnessed 5.17% growth, while Haryana at second place, registered 4.10% growth. The only Indian state to register negative growth is Jammu & Kashmir with -1.48% growth.
The biggest telecom operator in Gujarat Vodafone Essar has now 12059391 customers, followed by Bharti Airtel with 5980024, Idea at third place with 5827547 subscribers, BSNL 3163452 at fourth place followed by Videocon 627242, Uninor 487623, Aircel 3485 and Etisalat DB 3286. Tata Docomo and Reliance GSM services are not in the list.
