Total 54 project worth Rs 2500 crore investment that were announced in Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit 2009 were dropped in last one year, the government said in Gujarat assembly session. Of these 54 projects, four are major one and 50 are small and medium scale projects.
The Commerce Minister in his written reply to MLA Hirabhai Patel said that total 8660 MOUs were signed for an investment of Rs 12,37,571 crore. On 31st December of 2009, 92 major, 645 small, micro and medium level units worth Rs 14190.91 crore were functional with the investment of Rs 9428.83 crore.
According to the Minister, the projects below Rs 50 crore investment were to start functioning in two years, Rs 50 crore plus projects in three years, Rs 100 crore plus project in five years and Rs 500 crore plus project in seven years.
The major projects scrapped are Neo Comfort product, RF Gandhi KTT limited, Saurashtra fuels, SPG infrastructure. The small and medium sector projects that are dropped off include Ramdev industries, Bajrang food industries, Shreeji industries, MDGS company, High speed turbo drivers, Shri Sadguru cement, Jyoti enterprises, Pure temptation, Akash creation, Ketno auto project, Ajanta brass industries, Navjivan minerals, Kinjal construction, Jyot products, Lakshmi mamra pauva factory, Abhiraj manganese among others.
