Gujarat Fiance Minister Vajubhai Vala today announced that the state would have new two gas based power stations this year, each with a capacity of 1000 MW.
Vala said the state would enjoy 30% jump in power capacity this year by adding 3583 MW capacity.
He announced government’s intention to set up new 140 sub-stations for smooth power supply. This includes 21 sub-stations in tribal areas and 22 in coastal areas.
Vala said the state agency – GETCO would pump-in about Rs 3,000 crore for better power network in the state.
He announced addition of 5550 circuit km transmission lines in state this year which is 15% of present total length of the lines. He said the state would add 550 MW of power in wind energy sector this year.
