Mumbai-based Samudra Link Ferry Shipping & Cruise services, is slated to begin waterway service between Mumbai-Jafrabad on 7 December. The company, also known as Samlink, had earlier planned to launch the ferry service on April and then in May this year, but had to postpone its plans “due to bad weather conditions”.
The 450 seats ferry service will be made available once a week on Mondays from Mumbai and return journeys on Wednesdays from Jafrabad.
The cruise will depart from Mumbai on Monday and reach Jafrabad in 12 hours. The cruise will start its journey back to Mumbai at 7 in the evening on Wednesday from Jafrabad and reach Mumbai at 7 in the morning next day.
With the service, Samlink aims to cut down the usual 18-20 hours distance for passengers, mainly Gujarati businessmen, who have been availing of the roadway services so far. With the ferry services, the passengers can cut down on a lot of travel time as the distance covered through waterways will be close to 12 hours.
