A Kolkata-based public sector Uco Bank targets 100% business growth in Gujarat in next couple of years. Presently the state contributes around 4% to the total business of the bank. The bank recently launched a ‘Flagship Companies Centre’ in Ahmedabad. The centre, which is the fifth in the country will sanction loans exceeding Rs 60 crore in Gujarat. Rs 710 crore loans were sanctioned on the first day itself by the ‘Flagship Companies Centre’ in Gujarat. The bank’s total business in Gujarat was around Rs 6,456 crore in year 2008-09, with deposits of Rs 3,676 crore and advances of Rs 2,780 crore.
