Croma selects Rajkot to enter tier 2 market

Ahmedabad has two, Surat and Vadodara each have one and now the popular Croma store will soon be opened in Rajkot too.

In fact Rajkot will be the first tier 2 city to have Croma strore in the nation.

‘Croma’, a national chain of mega stores of consumer electronics and durables is run by Infiniti Retail Limited, a 100% subsidiary of Tata Sons.

” This year we have chosen only one tier 2 city that is Rajkot for our expation,” says Ajit Joshi, MD & CEO of Infiniti Retail.

The first Croma store was launched in Juhu followed by the second store at Malad in Mumbai. With ‘Croma’, Infiniti Retail Ltd. has entered into a technical and sourcing agreement with Australian retail giant, Woolworths Ltd. Infiniti Retail Ltd., will own and run the retail operations in India, while Woolworths will provide technical support and strategic sourcing facilities from its global network. The Croma store has now expanded to Gujarat and has plans to rollout across the country.

At present Croma has a strenth of 32 stores nationwide. The company intends to start 22 stores during current fiscal with investment of Rs 50 crore. The company is planning to  have total 100 stores within next three years. In Gujarat, there are two Croma stores in Ahmedabad at Himalaya mall and S.G.Highway, one in Surat on Ghod dod road and one in Vadodara at Sarabhai Circle.
