Videocon Industries Ltd targets to set up 18 new exclusive ‘Digiworld’ outlets in Gujarat by Diwali this year. The company currently has 3 such outlets in the state that sell various home appliances and consumer electronics products of the company exclusively under one roof.
Unveiling the new logo of the company in Ahmedabad, Jaideep Rathod, Chief Marketing Officer, Videocon Industries, said “we have 9% market share in Gujarat market in our segment. We are targeting to secure around 14% market here.”
“The company will launch 18 new color TV models and 9 new frost-free refrigerator models soon. The company is going to complete its 25 years next year. During its journey so far the company has changed its logo thrice. With 40% growth during the current fiscal, the company is hopeful to achieve Rs 6,000 crore turnover by the end of this year,” Rathore said.
Every Indian TV has Videocon glass panel
Videocon Group under its multi-brands has a full range of products in TV, washing machines, ACs, refrigerators, audio products, home theatre, microwave ovens, food processors, inverters, JMG and water purifiers. The company has 18 manufacturing facilities globally, including Italy, China and Oman. It has its R&D centrs in Shenzhen, China and Tokyo.
The group over the years has developed business interests in diverse areas like glass shells, picture tubes, consumer electronics, home appliances and oil refining. Videocon today is the third largest CPT manufacturer in the world with a total production capacity of 22 million per annum. In India Videocon is the only manufacturer of glass panels, which is a key component for a color picture tube. Thus every TV sold in India with an Indian picture tube has a videocon inside.
Videocon has also forayed into petroleum and oil and today is India’s largest producer of oil in the private sector.
Shahrukh soon will be seen with Chouw and Mouw in Videocon commercials
The company’s new proposition is ‘Experience Change’ prior to which the brand had banked on other propositions, such as ‘Technology for health and pleasure’, ‘Bring home the leader’, ‘New improved life’, ‘The Indian Multinational’, ‘Whatever role life gives you, play it big’, as well as the most recent one, ‘Eco logic for sustainable life.’
The ‘V’ in the new Videocon logo is composed of two animated green, lava-like shapes-called Chouw and Mouw which will be featured as live characters and used to tell simple stories through a series of short videos. Bollywood film-star Shahrukh Khan who is a brand ambassador of Videocon will soon be seen with Chow and Mouw in commercials and also in his forthcoming Karan Johar film-My name is Khan.
